Chaplain's Message
Living Our Faith Through Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism
Brother Knights,
As members of the Knights of Columbus, we are called to live out the core values that Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney envisioned for our Order—**charity, unity, fraternity**, and **patriotism**. These principles are not merely ideals, but the very foundation of how we practice our faith in our daily lives.
**Charity** compels us to serve those in need, to reflect the love of Christ in our actions. It is through charity that we answer the call of the Gospel, showing compassion and offering help to those less fortunate. In the words of St. John Paul II, "We cannot love without being charitable." Whether it’s supporting our local parish, helping families in need, or working within our communities, we extend Christ's love to all.
**Unity** reminds us that we are stronger when we stand together. As Knights, we are united in our shared mission to support the Church, protect the sanctity of life, and defend our faith. This unity is a powerful force for good, enabling us to accomplish far more than we could ever achieve alone.
**Fraternity** is the bond that links us as brothers in Christ. Blessed Father McGivney founded the Knights to provide a community where men could support one another, both spiritually and materially. In a world that often feels divided, fraternity reminds us of the deep brotherhood we share as Knights, always looking out for each other and our families.
**Patriotism** calls us to love and serve our country, recognizing that being faithful Catholics also means being good citizens. The Knights of Columbus have always supported the cause of freedom and justice, from providing aid during times of war to supporting civic initiatives today. As proud Catholics and proud citizens, we dedicate ourselves to the principles of liberty and justice for all.
As we continue our journey as Knights, let us strive to live out these values in all that we do, following the example of our founder and the teachings of Christ. Together, may we grow in faith and love, building a better world for our families, our Church, and our country.
May God bless you and your families abundantly.
In Christ’s service,
Fr. David
